Radio Dept., The - Pet Grief LP

Pet Grief is the Radio Dept.'s second album, self-produced by the band's own Johan Duncanson and Martin Larsson for the Labrador label. Keyboardist Daniel Tjader filled out the lineup, and Per Blomgren sat in on drums for one track. Lead single "The Worst Taste in Music" came first, and the album reached No. 12 on the Swedish albums chart. Pitchfork liked the melodies but called it safe, and the Guardian landed closer: shy and lovely, straight out of the C86 indie-pop playbook. Buy it for that exact sound.
