Raise: Demos LP

Swervedriver got lumped in with early shoegaze despite playing heavier and more rock-leaning than most of that scene, landing on Creation Records after a demo reached Alan McGee through Ride's Mark Gardener. Their 1991 debut, Raise, only got to number 44 on the UK chart at the time, but Pitchfork has since called it a genre classic. Raise: Demos pulls together the original cassette demos from those sessions for Outer Battery Records, rawer and looser than the finished album, and that rawness is the whole sale here.
