Revelations of Divine Love LP

Susanne Sundfør's eighth album, Revelations of Divine Love, pulls its title from the 14th-century mystic Julian of Norwich, whose book of the same name is considered the earliest surviving English-language text written by a woman. Mercury Prize-nominated organist and pianist Kit Downes co-composed the music with her, and where 2023's blómi stacked up layers, this one strips back to close-mic'd voice and organ, mostly recorded in single takes. It arrived after Sundfør became a mother of two and left the city for the Norwegian countryside, and that quiet shows up in every bar.
