Sound Sun Pleasure / We Travel The Space Ways LP

This LP pairs two distinct Sun Ra records without blending their histories. Sound Sun Pleasure!! was cut March 6, 1959 in Chicago, during the same sessions as Jazz in Silhouette, then sat unreleased for over a decade before Ra issued it himself on Saturn in 1970: six tracks, four jazz standards and two Sun Ra/Hobart Dotson originals, with Hattie Randolph singing lead on two of the standards. We Travel the Space Ways, credited to Sun Ra and His Myth Science Arkestra, draws on sessions from 1956 to 1961, mostly 1960, a more exploratory, original-heavy set.
