Getz/Gilberto LP

Verve put this out in March 1964, recorded the year before at A&R Studios in New York with Stan Getz on tenor sax, Joao Gilberto on guitar and vocals, and Antonio Carlos Jobim writing and arranging. Astrud Gilberto's vocal on The Girl from Ipanema launched her singing career and won Record of the Year, while the album took Album of the Year at the 1965 Grammys, the first non American record to manage it.
