(self-titled) LP

Sparta split off from At the Drive-In's wreckage in 2001 while Mars Volta took the weirder half, Jim Ward keeping Sparta on the hook-driven side for three albums before going quiet after 2006's Threes. Trust the River brought the band back in 2020 after a fourteen-year gap, and this self-titled record is technically a two-piece now, just Ward and bassist Matt Miller, yet it plays like a full band showed up anyway. Angelica Garcia guests on 'Spiders,' and closer 'True to Form' ends on a soundbite of former congressman Beto O'Rourke.
