Hempispheres LP

Matt Pike is out, Jon 'Bubba' Dupree is in, and Melvins' own Dale Crover has taken over the drum stool from Jason Roeder, Al Cisneros the one constant holding the bass end down. That's the biggest shakeup this band has ever survived, and Hempispheres is the first new Sleep music in about eight years, 'Have Spacesuit Will Travel' among it, out through Third Man Records. Early word calls it strange and compelling, Dupree's fluid playing a real break from Pike's heavier attack even as Cisneros's droning riffs keep the whole thing unmistakably Sleep.
