Scream CD

Siouxsie and the Banshees knocked this one out in a single week at RAK Studios in 1978, Steve Lillywhite producing, and it still clawed its way to number 12 on the UK albums chart and a Silver certification. Sounds and Record Mirror both threw five stars at it and called it the year's best debut. That stark, claustrophobic post-punk sound went on to rattle Joy Division, U2 and the Cure, and Massive Attack later lifted "Metal Postcard" outright, no apologies offered.
