Marchita LP

Marchita is Silvana Estrada's debut full-length for Glassnote, and the label let her build it around her own voice and cuatro rather than layering on studio polish, a choice that's exactly what makes the record's intimacy land instead of feeling thin. That stripped-down approach earned her a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Singer-Songwriter Album and spots on year-end lists at Billboard, NPR Music, and Rolling Stone. The New York Times called it an intimate, austere record about a young woman working through lost love, and Rolling Stone's "gorgeously understated" is about as precise a summary of the production choice as you'll find.
