Sales keep everything turned down on purpose. Lauren Morgan and Jordan Shih built this Orlando duo in 2013 around hushed vocals, spare guitar and a drum machine clicking along so restrained it barely counts as a beat. Early singles "Renee" and "Chinese New Year" sat quiet for years before TikTok dragged them into the spotlight. Forever & Ever, the pair's second album, came out on their own with no label attached, and Pitchfork called it "a world of cozy, minimalist pop."
