Manic Compression LP

Quicksand came together in New York in 1990 out of the hardcore scene, Walter Schreifels arriving from Gorilla Biscuits and Youth of Today, the rest of the band carrying roots in Bold, Burn, and Collapse. Manic Compression, their second record, came out on Island with Wharton Tiers and Don Fury behind the boards. It barely cracked the bottom of the Billboard 200 at the time. The post-hardcore and alt-metal bands that followed owe it more than the chart ever showed.
