Voyager 7"

PJ Harvey wrote this one from the point of view of a spacecraft: Voyager 2, billions of miles out, still transmitting, nodding straight at Carl Sagan's pale blue dot. It's her first new original song since 2023's I Inside the Old Year Dying, built on modular synths, an orchestral arrangement from Dario Marianelli and Juno synth bass from physicist Brian Cox, whose Emergence tour invitation is where the song started, released via Partisan Records. Harvey calls it the first signal of whatever comes next, and it sounds like exactly that: a transmission.
