Death Above Life 2LP

Orbit Culture call Death Above Life a rebirth, and vocalist Niklas Karlsson means it: this fifth album tightens the Swedish band's melodic death metal into something closer to the tech-metal angularity of Meshuggah, with groove metal still running underneath. Buster Odeholm, the Swedish producer behind Humanity's Last Breath, worked the boards alongside co-producer Niklas Karlsson on Century Media, and critics heard the sharper focus too, Blabbermouth gave it a 9/10 and Kerrang! handed it four stars.
