Epitaph CD

Epitaph is the record where Muhammed Suicmez admitted he needed other humans in the room, trading the mostly solo debut for a full band: guitarist Christian Munzner, bassist Stephan Fimmers, drummer Hannes Grossmann. Released on Relapse, it turns neoclassical shred into something closer to a technical death metal syllabus, and the guitar work alone has sent a generation of players back to the woodshed. Eight songs, under 33 minutes, and not one of them lets the tempo breathe.
