Mahogany Brown 2LP

Mahogany Brown dropped in 1998 on the UK label Peacefrog, after Kenny Dixon Jr., working as Moodymann, had already built a name on Silentintroduction and a string of singles before it. He stirs gospel into deep house and disco until the seams don't show. Black Sunday stretches out at the end, Radio loops along at an easy pace, and both still turn up in his sets two decades on.
