Mitski's eighth album for Dead Oceans reunites her with producer Patrick Hyland, who also worked on The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, with Drew Erickson conducting the orchestral parts. Eleven songs follow a woman shut inside an unkempt house, someone she calls 'a deviant' outside those walls and 'free' within them, built around solitude and anonymity. NME called it her most musically ambitious record yet.
