Alone LP

Alone is Masayoshi Takanaka's tenth studio album, the follow-up to his concept record The Rainbow Goblins, and it climbed to No. 5 on Japan's Oricon chart. It's early-80s Takanaka at full tilt: fusion chops dressed up in funk, pop, and the city pop sound just then taking shape. Decades later, Grimes sampled "Penguin Dancer" off it, which is how a chunk of a whole new generation found out this guy could play guitar like that.
