Danceteria 7"

Danceteria comes off Confessions II, the sequel to Madonna's 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor, written and produced with her longtime collaborator Stuart Price. The song builds its hook straight off Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side," with Reed receiving a co-writing credit, while the lyric loops back to Madonna's earliest days hanging around New York's Danceteria, where DJ Mark Kamins first played her demo of "Everybody" and helped broker her deal with Sire Records. It topped Billboard's Dance Airplay chart, and the remix pairing her with Charli XCX turns that old nightclub story into current chart business.
