Seattle's grunge machine was kicking into gear when Sub Pop signed Love Battery, and critics kept pointing out the band sounded more like British dream pop than anything else in the same scene, the odd one who shows up to the mosh pit in a cardigan. Dayglo, the second album, was produced by Conrad Uno and Jon Auer as a follow-up to 1990's Between the Eyes; The Seattle Times heard My Bloody Valentine and Ride in it, the Columbus Dispatch heard garage psych crossed with Neil Young, and the band toured with L7 behind the record.
