Loathe - The Cold Sun LP

The Cold Sun was Loathe's 2017 debut, originally out on SharpTone Records before the Liverpool band's sound pushed further on later records like I Let It In and It Took Everything. This pressing revisits a concept album set in a post-apocalyptic world following two characters, built from metalcore and djent with shoegaze textures and electronic flourishes that were unusual for the genre at the time. It earned the band a nomination for best new band at the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards and set up Loathe's name as one of UK heavy music's more adventurous acts.
