Left to Suffer formed in Atlanta in 2019 and built a reputation on grinding nu-metal grooves into deathcore's breakdown-heavy frame, a hybrid some outlets now just call nu-deathcore. Vocalist Taylor Barber fronted the band through a string of independent releases, A Year of Suffering, Feral and Leap of Death, before Hopeless Records signed them onto a roster with a long track record of backing heavier acts alongside its pop-punk and emo lineage. Metal Hammer named the band one of ten acts saving deathcore in 2023.
