Kash'd Out formed around co-founders Greg Shields and guitarist Jackson Hauserman, part of the Florida reggae-rock scene that also produced Pepper and Iration, bands they've since shared stages with. Pepper brought them out on tour and helped get them signed to Law Records, and The Hookup became their first full-length, climbing Billboard's reggae chart on the strength of that same scene's following.
