Music from the Studio Ghibli Films 2LP

This marks Joe Hisaishi's first release for Deutsche Grammophon, and the label paired him with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London with Hisaishi himself conducting. He wrote new symphonic arrangements of themes from ten Hayao Miyazaki-directed Studio Ghibli films, with soprano Grace Davidson, mandolinist Avi Avital, and the Bach Choir joining in. It pulls four decades of scores that have shaped the studio's sound since the 1980s into one orchestral program.
