Joan Shelley's Over and Even made its case for quiet as a mood, not an absence, cut with neighbor and regular collaborator Nathan Salsburg in a creekside house in Louisville following her 2014 record Electric Ursa. The title track grew out of a guitar part Salsburg found first, with Shelley adding melody and lyrics before the two reshaped the song together. This deluxe edition tacks on eight of Shelley's solo demos.
