Orcas' Greatest Hits LP

Orcas' Greatest Hits pulls from more than 60 hours of hydrophone tape Jim Nollman recorded with actual orcas between 1985 and 2002, working out of a floating studio he called Orcananda, anchored in a British Columbia cove. He'd already made the case for this on 1982's Playing Music with Animals, treating the whales as collaborators rather than subjects, hunting for shared musical ground instead of imposing human structure on them.
