Jay-Z put out The Blueprint the week of September 11, 2001, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200, and it's still the record critics point to as his best. Kanye West and Just Blaze built it on soul samples from Al Green, Bobby "Blue" Bland, and David Ruffin, dragging hip-hop back toward live crate-digging. Eminem is the album's only credited featured rapper, appearing on "Renegade," which he also produced. The Source gave it a rare five-mic review, and this blue vinyl pressing carries all fifteen tracks.
