Pretty on the Inside LP

Pretty on the Inside sounds like it was recorded by people trying to get out of the room fast: Hole cut it in about a week at Music Box Studios in Hollywood, with Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon and Gumball's Don Fleming producing. The lineup of Courtney Love, Eric Erlandson, Jill Emery, and Caroline Rue made something deliberately abrasive, closer to Patti Smith colliding with Black Sabbath. "Teenage Whore" hit number one on the UK Indie Chart, and the album reached number 59 on the UK Albums Chart without ever touching the US charts.
