Bob Weinstock packed four tenor players into Rudy Van Gelder's studio for this 1956 Prestige date: Hank Mobley, Al Cohn, Zoot Sims, and John Coltrane, the last of them mid-stint with the Miles Davis quintet. Red Garland and Paul Chambers, also on loan from that same Davis band, hold down the rhythm section with drummer Art Taylor. The format is exactly what the title says, four horns trading solos over shared tunes. This limited 180-gram pressing tacks on a bonus track beyond the original program.
