Three albums in, Goose finally built a studio record that doesn't need the live show to make sense of it. Dripfield was cut at Isokon Studio in Woodstock with producer D. James Goodwin, guitarist Rick Mitarotonda's songwriting tightened into real structure instead of sprawl, and Pitchfork called it "the rare jam studio album that doesn't have to be heard live to be understood." It's also the last record with founding drummer Ben Atkind, who left the band in 2023.
