At the Beach, in Every Life LP

Grief albums rarely turn into commercial breakthroughs, but Gigi Perez's debut, At the Beach, in Every Life, managed both: a tribute to her sister Celene Perez, who died in 2020, that also landed on the Billboard 200 and went gold in the US, Belgium, and New Zealand. Produced with Noah Weinman and Aidan Hobbs for Outtahere and Island Records, the indie-folk record works through grief, faith, and love around the breakout single "Sailor Song," proof that private mourning and a hit can share the same song.
