Dreams LP

Gabor Szabo didn't just record for Skye Records in 1968, he co-owned the label, alongside Gary McFarland and Cal Tjader, so when McFarland produced and arranged Dreams, nobody had to ask permission for the weird stuff. The rhythm tracks came together in Los Angeles that August, with McFarland's French horns, cello, and violin overdubs stacked on later that month in New York, running through originals, pop covers, and a rework of Manuel de Falla. AllMusic later filed it under "accessible third-stream music."
