Maggot Brain CD

Funkadelic cut Maggot Brain, their third album, at United Sound Systems in Detroit in 1971, with George Clinton producing and Eddie Hazel building the title track around a ten-minute guitar solo that still stops people cold. Bernie Worrell held down keys and Tiki Fulwood drums on what turned out to be the last record from that original lineup. Rolling Stone has called it one of the heaviest records out of the P-Funk camp, and it shows up regularly on best-of-the-1970s lists from Pitchfork and others.
