Songs for Christmas LP

This collects Elvis' Christmas Album, which RCA counts as one of the best-selling Christmas records the US has ever shipped, north of seventeen million copies. Cut at Radio Recorders in Hollywood with longtime producer Steve Sholes, it swings from rockabilly, including "Santa Claus Is Back in Town," which Presley picked himself to open the set, to gospel numbers like "Peace in the Valley" and "Take My Hand, Precious Lord." His "White Christmas" annoyed songwriter Irving Berlin enough that he tried to get it pulled from radio.
