Down Here CD

Down Here is Atlanta blues guitarist Eddie 9V's debut for Easy Eye Sound, the Nashville label Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys runs and produced himself. Eddie 9V found the blues as a kid watching old Howlin' Wolf footage, then co-wrote these songs with Marcus King, Pat McLaughlin and Daniel Tashian in sessions built on writing together more than nailing takes, which left Auerbach with looser, spontaneous solos on tape. Southern soul and blues-rock, same lane as earlier records Little Black Flies and Capricorn. No frills, just tape rolling while the room worked something out.
