Another Setting 2LP

The Durutti Column's third album for Factory Records, Another Setting, is in practice a Vini Reilly solo record with a band name stapled on: he wrote the music and played nearly every instrument himself, with longtime associate Bruce Mitchell adding percussion. Recorded at Strawberry Studio in Stockport, it extends the delicate, reverb-soaked guitar sound Reilly had already built his reputation on, a different world from Factory labelmates like Joy Division. It's one of the clearest statements of his melodic, post-punk-adjacent style on record.
