Do You Love the Color of the Sky? CD

Dummy, the Los Angeles five-piece of Alex Ewell, Emma Maatman, Nathan O'Dell, Joe Trainor and Lance Umble, built Do You Love the Color of the Sky? from a sample library they recorded by hand, then tore apart and reassembled into breakbeats and Madchester-style rhythms layered with ambient pop. It's the band's first album for Polyvinyl, arriving after a run on Trouble in Mind that included Free Energy, a Stereogum Album of the Week that Pitchfork scored 8.0, with lyrics here turning toward climate collapse and the way AI chews through artists' work for parts.
