Dreamwake calls what they do "wavecore," which sounds like a joke until you actually hear metalcore breakdowns bleeding into synthwave textures with a saxophone showing up uninvited. The Connecticut band's second full-length follows 2022's Virtual Reality on UNFD, built around emotional isolation and trauma that hasn't healed yet, tracks like "Stargazer" and "VHS Dreams" carrying that weight. It lands on pink and blue vinyl, colors that don't pretend the record is lighter than it is.
