T'som LP

Dexter Story titling a record after a word for fasting, in three languages no less, while stacking the guest list with Sudan Archives, Kamasi Washington, Georgia Anne Muldrow, and longtime collaborator Carlos Nino is either a joke or a dare. T'som continues the Los Angeles multi-instrumentalist's run of Soundway full-lengths, following Bahir and Inner, deeper into the musical traditions of the Horn of Africa and the Middle East. The spiritual jazz textures don't sound like restraint so much as a crowded room that somehow still knows how to be quiet.
