Creole Culture LP

Dawn Richard spent two albums telling her parents' New Orleans stories, New Breed for her father in 2019 and Second Line for her mother in 2021, which makes Creole Culture, the trilogy's closer, the first one actually about her: her own Black and Native American heritage, filtered through R&B, hip-hop, and jazz. The twist is that the production team behind it, Katalyst, usually works rooms for Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, and Solange, not a concept record this personal. Merge Records presses this edition on clear beige vinyl.
