Tubthumper 2LP

Tubthumper got made at Woodlands Studio in Castleford with producer Neil Ferguson, Chumbawamba's eighth album and the record that pulled the anarcho-punk collective onto a major label. The single "Tubthumping" turned into an actual worldwide hit, topping charts in Canada, Italy, Ireland, and Australia and pushing the album to triple-platinum in the US. The politics stayed intact regardless: singer Alice Nutter's on-air comments about shoplifting got the record yanked from some stores for a while, and the band kept insisting signing to a major was working the system from inside rather than cashing out.
