Zodiac LP

Baritone saxophonist Cecil Payne recorded Zodiac in Englewood, New Jersey, in late 1968, but it sat unreleased until Strata-East put it out in 1973, true to that label's whole premise of handing musicians control over their own masters. Fellow saxophonist Clifford Jordan produced the session, pairing Payne with Kenny Dorham on trumpet, Wynton Kelly on piano and organ, Wilbur Ware on bass, and Albert Heath on drums. This Record Store Day pressing comes in a tip-on cover with a postcard set.
