The Future Is Our Way Out LP

Brigitte Calls Me Baby came together in Chicago in 2022 around singer Wes Leavins, whose voice pulls more from Roy Orbison and Morrissey than from any current indie-rock peer. A buzzed-about 2023 SXSW set landed them on ATO Records, and their debut mixes songs Dave Cobb produced in 2021 with newer, self-produced material. The record swings between mid-century pop romanticism and jangly post-punk drive, pulling as much from Echo & the Bunnymen and the Strokes as from 1950s crooners.
