Before the Flood 2LP

Dylan and the Band circled back in 1974 like two old sparring partners who still knew each other's moves, cutting Before the Flood mostly from their stand at the LA Forum, with shows in New York, Seattle, and Oakland filling in the gaps. Christgau called it some of the most forceful rock and roll ever recorded, and the charts agreed, Top 5 on the Billboard 200, platinum sales. Half this double record hands the stage to the Band alone, running through Robbie Robertson's songbook, so it plays less like backup and more like two headliners sharing one bill.
