Cayenne 2LP

Bill Summers spent years anchoring the groove on Herbie Hancock's Head Hunters and Thrust before stepping out front with his own band, Summer Heat, which is where Cayenne comes from. He went on to work behind the scenes on Quincy Jones film scores, including Roots and The Color Purple, and backed everyone from Stevie Wonder to Sting along the way, a resume that says more about his range than any single album can. Summer Heat cut several records in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and this one gets a Record Store Day Black Friday exclusive repress.
