Four Louies Live LP

Thirteen players, not a trio: guitarist Bill Orcutt built this live piece at Roulette in New York around six organists, two drummers, percussionist William Winant, plus Chris Corsano, Wendy Eisenberg, and Alan Licht, mashing the garage staple "Louie Louie" into Steve Reich's minimalist landmark "Four Organs." It's out on Fake Estates, the label Orcutt runs himself, a long way from his start in Miami noise-punk outfit Harry Pussy and his later run as a solo prepared-guitar player. Big lineup, bigger idea.
