April Suzanne 7"

This single pairs Beach House's cover of "April Suzanne" with Robert Lester Folsom's own original on the B-side, built for the 50th-anniversary reissue of his private-press folk record Music and Dreams. Beach House turns the song hazy and reverb-heavy, their usual dream pop treatment, while Folsom's 1970s version sits right behind it unchanged. Lined up together, the two versions read as a direct exchange between a cult songwriter and a band whose own sound his record quietly fed into.
