Happy Soup LP

Baxter Dury's third album and his first on a major label, produced largely with Craig Silvey, who also mixed it and has worked with Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, and The Horrors, with additional production from Cameron Craig on two tracks. Dury's flat cockney delivery, inherited straight from his father Ian Dury, rides over lo-fi electro-pop arrangements. The Kinks and early Lily Allen comparisons got thrown around at the time, and both Les Inrocks and Q put it on their best-of-2011 lists. Solid pickup if you already like the Dury lineage.
