Al Green cut his sixth album at Royal Studios in Memphis in 1973, Willie Mitchell producing, the Hi Rhythm Section doing the actual work behind him. Three singles went top ten on the Hot 100, 'You Ought to Be with Me' at No. 3, 'Call Me (Come Back Home)' and 'Here I Am (Come and Take Me)' both at No. 10, and the record topped the Billboard Black Albums chart. Rolling Stone still lists it among the 500 greatest albums ever made, and Green never sang it better than this.
