ADULT. have been unsettling people since 1998, when Nicola Kuperus and Adam Lee Miller started stacking analog synths and drum machines under vocals that sound like an argument you weren't meant to overhear. Kissing Luck Goodbye, cut at their own Ersatz Studio with producer Nolan Gray, is their latest for Dais Records, the label they've called home since 2018. AllMusic noted the pair pare down and sharpen up their sound without losing the taste for disruption, which is critic-speak for a band that finally stopped overexplaining itself.
