Levitate the Heavy Part LP

Abe Mamet leads this septet out of DC's creative-music scene, sharing shelf space with touchstones like Don Cherry and Jaimie Branch. They cut Levitate the Heavy Part live in front of a room at Tonal Park in Takoma Park, Maryland, treating the crowd like part of the band. The whole thing runs on Sound Awareness, a philosophy from the late French hornist Brother Ah, Robert Northern, who insisted that any sound, animal, insect, or human, counts as music worth hearing. Turns out the room was in on it the whole time.
